Tatting is a form of lacework that consists of knotting to make edgings for the decoration of boarders on handkerchiefs and linen motifs for shawls and table cloths. The Tatting Shuttle has a detachable bobbin around which the thread is wound. The tatting shuttle is made of plastic. A steel crochet hook would help to join motifs.
